We are very fortunate to live in such a peaceful part of the world, sandwiched in a little village called Combe Martin, between the Atlantic Ocean and Exmoor National Park.
The valley of Combe Martin has always attracted interesting folk, there has been an ashram here since the 60's, established by  wanderers returning from Asia, which is the site for our retreat today.

We made a promise to ourselves that when we were able to feed our children and pay the bills through our work in yoga that we would start paying back to the community by supporting charitable causes.
We now find ourselves in that position and are able to offer retreats that don't only benefit you but also support those in need, both locally and further afield.

We want to raise as much as we can for good causes as well as making this an affordable escape for those that need it. We also want to give you a  good reason to donate to a charity of your choice, which we know will make you feel better and is a very important part of yoga.

Where and When

Our four night retreat in 2017 will be held at the'The Ashram' as it is still known in the village (a.k.a. Wild Pear Centre). It is a simple place, formerly the village dancehall and has a wonderful oak sprung floor to practice on and accommodates guests in simple shared rooms. It has a wonderful communal area and is just a few minute walk from Exmoor  and range of beaches, some of them often deserted.

Over the years it has been the temporary home to innumerable passing thinkers, hippies, yoga teachers and meditators, all of whom have left behind a very special energy about the place.

Our retreat in 2017 will be held from the evening of Thursday 27th April until the morning of 1st May-so with a bank holiday you only have to take one day off of work!

Getting to us is half the fun! Its when you realize how separate from the rest of the world we are down here.
We are a 4 hour drive from London, a 4 hour train journey to Barnstaple or a 5 hour (but very cheap) coach journey coach ride to Barnstaple. We will add everyone to a facebook group so that you can plan your grand adventure together and share petrol/taxis/stories on the way :)

What to do.....

As well as yoga and meditation every morning and evening with a variety of teachers from Friday to Sunday, we hope that you will make the most of the surrounding area while you are here.

There are breathtaking walks to be had (we are the only village in Britain with a mountain rising out of the sea), surfing, stand up paddleboarding, coasteering (jumping off of cliffs into the sea) and kayaking on our doorstep.

Plenty of deserted coves and giant caves to spend time in, totally isolated from the world with nothing but your thoughts.

It seems a rare thing in the UK these days to find a place so near to civilization but where you can so easily slip away to a totally isolated spot and find time for yourself.

Through the facebook group we will help you to arrange whatever equipment hire or lessons you are interested in through the surf / SUP instructors, hire shops and coasteering groups that we know well.

Benefiting Everyone

The retreat, includes shared accommodation (please enquire for individual rooms) and catering from our very local friends at the The Homegrown Catering Company, we can also help to arrange any other activities that you might want to enjoy locally at your own cost. Though as we are good friend with many of the local surf schools and hire companies we can get very good group rates.

How it Works!
We ask for a non-refundable payment of £175 upon booking to reserve your place. That is the only money that we ever see and it covers the accommodation, catering and other costs that we incur. Our time is given for free.

In return we ask that at least six weeks before the retreat you personally donate an equal amount (£175) or more if you prefer, to a charity or charities of your choice. Although we want to practice trust we would love to see some proof of this as a receipt or other confirmation email.
We can only offer a small number of retreat places and we really want to know that as much as possible is going to charitable causes.
